Briar Lane, Wellfleet

A charming and expanded in-town classic antique Cape with rolling grounds and an awesome private patio/deck

Ideal for families who are looking for an elegantly updated classic Cape summer rental within walking distance of Wellfleet center.

Picture
This larger classic Cape sits on a knoll overlooking landscaped lawns with the wetlands beyond.  It dates from 1780 and is originally 2 adjoining houses now combined into one.  It has been tastefully updated and decorated with fittings, art and antiques that reflect the house's character.

The real surprise of the residence is to be found at the back (see photo), where the large and wonderfully private U-shaped courtyard is graced by a patio/deck that overlooks the rolling lawn to the marsh beyond.  The garden is irrigated and lush throughout the summer and is a wonderful space for children to play.

The house is just five minutes walk to Wellfleet center, and 3 minutes by car to the town's beaches, golf and tennis.  The Wellfleet drive-in is 10 minutes away; Provincetown 20 minutes.

Every attempt has been made to retain the look and feel of a classic Cape; yet, given the house's unusual layout (2 houses combined into 1), it does not suffer from the cramped feel of a traditional Cape house.  In addition to the six bedrooms outlined below, it boasts 2 kitchens, TV room, study, a truly elegant LR/DR and bushels of charm.
